I just finished this book, and bawled. I could not put it down. I don't want to say too much, because I think it's worth finding it all out as you read through, but I most definitely recommend it. I didn't cry until the end, so don't worry, the whole thing isn't a tear jerker. 
It's a long book, but so good its a quick read. Let me know what you think about it.

1It is truly an emotional book that makes you think about life and family. Everyone in our book club loved it and I recommend it to everyone!
2this is one of my all time favorite reads. the pact by the same author is also very good

I just finished this book (I picked it up after reading your review of it, actually!) but I really wasn't all that crazy about it. I kind of thought it was predictable - both the ending and the real person behind the law suit. I had them both figured out before they were revealed in the book. My sister loved it, but I just wasn't that impressed with the book.
4Easy, pretty good read. Kind of a tearjerker like you stated. I liked how each chapter was told by a different character's voice.
